STYLE WITH ROSES – Revolution of An Independent Woman

Recently, the ladies of Urban Chic got to work in a super chic and fashionable Style evening, hosted by talk show host, super entrepreneur and socialite extraordinaire, Rosie Sibisi. The evening was sponsored by Stanbic Banks’s – Anakazi banking, and so was appropriately held at the Stanbic Bank Yamene Leadership Center in Kabulonga.

The style evening was in commemoration of Zambia’s 53rd Independence day, and was themed: The Revolution of the Independent woman. The theme was presented in two distinct ways.

The first was the showcasing of the Popoka 2017 collection. The collection featured gorgeous dresses in summer colors, catering to the woman as she evolves through the “style with Roses” three important phases of her life.

  • Budding Roses: These are the young ladies breaking out into the world and beginning to walk in their element and purpose. This sub line featured vibrant green florals, with young and proud designs.

  • Blossoming Roses: Featured pieces for the lady on her way. She is pushing and working and hence wears modern pieces that are young but age appropriate. Sometimes more sophisticated but still functioning for the woman on the go.

  • Flourishing Roses: these are women who are more sophisticated and have virtually made it in life. They women know their place, their worth and their power. They ooze elegance and sophistication, and this was reflected in the line. more subtle fabrics and colors, impeccably tailored and confidently worn

On the second segment, the theme was showcased on a model of the “Style with Roses” TV show format. The host Rosie Sibisi spoke to two former first ladies – madam Maureen Mwanawasa and Mrs Thandiwe Banda.

The evening also featured dinner, wine tasting, exhibitions and some extensive opportunities for networking as a lot of phenomenal women were in attendance. fabulous gift bags were also shared curtsy of “style with Roses” and Stanbic bank.

The Urban Chic ladies had a lot of fun, as Jayne got to walk in the fashion show, as Popoka primarily designs for Plus size, and Ngosa did her magic back stage, doing makeup for some of the gorgeous models.

Afterwards was all about sipping some wine and grabbing wisdom from various women they look up to.
